Do I need to do anything to enable click tracking? add
Outbound click and file download tracking rely on GA4's Enhanced Measurement, which is on by default for most properties. Check Google Analytics → Admin → Data Streams → Enhanced measurement to confirm both are enabled.
What counts as an "outbound" click? add
Any link pointing to a domain different from your own — clicking a link to another page on your own site is not counted here.
Which file types are tracked as downloads automatically? add
Common document, archive, and media formats are detected automatically, including PDF, DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX, PPT/PPTX, ZIP, RAR, CSV, and TXT, among others.
Why do some rows show "prev: 0"? add
This means there was no recorded activity for that link or file in the previous comparable period — common for tracking that was only recently enabled, or for a newly added link.
Can I track internal link clicks the same way? add
Not automatically — outbound clicks and downloads are covered by GA4's built-in Enhanced Measurement, but internal link click tracking requires a separate custom Google Tag Manager setup.
